Enjoy this enriching and inspiring metals workshop by focusing on new cutting edge ideas in metal while creating a few extraordinary pairs of earrings. Cut shapes and add color and texture to the surface of metal to play against each other. Learn swing joins for max. movement. Utilize the art of hand fabrication to create dimensional forms, bends, creases and folds with the forming block, circle punch and dapping block. Create hoops and unique ear wires. As time allows build a post earring with cold join attachment. All levels.
Materials fee of $32 is payable to instructor on day of class.
Supply List: anvil and/or vice, ball peen hammer, jewelers saw, size 0 or 1 blade, and/or tin snips, bench pin, round needle nose, chain nose pliers, wire snips.
Optional: wire, drill, 1/16 drill bit, rubber stamps, permanent ink, center punch, extra sheet metal, small objects, found objects, colorful tin (to cut up) mica, wire, any gauge, paper images, text or
photographs, oil pastels, clear enamel (or nail polish)., metal stamps, beads, additional silver wire
