1049 - Fiber Fusion Art Journal

Create an art journal filled with random-sized pages of painted backgrounds and is adorned with patchwork collage covers. The journal is bound with a funky fiber spine that spills with strips of fabric, handmade pom-poms, crocheted bits and explodes with found vintage beads, colorful baubles and buttons. Learn a variety fiber embellishing techniques to create FIBERlicious decorations!

A $10 materials fee is payable to instructor on the day of class.

Supply list:
--Favorite heavy bodied, fluid and/or ink acrylic colors
--Golden soft gel gloss (16oz.)
--Gesso
--5 manila folders
--Misc. papers to use to paint and dye 20-30 pieces (up to 12”x18”) – heavy drawing paper, copy paper, ledger, sheet music, paper bags, envelopes, maps, craft, graph and found papers.
--15 - 2-ply white paper towels (Kirkland from Costco)
--2” flat brush (hardware store brushes work great)
--Plastic paint scrapper 
-- 2- 1” foam brushes
--2 water containers 
-- Brayer
--Scissors
--Painting smock
--Awl
--Bone folder
--Book binding (paper needle) 
-- Nylon beading cord or embroidery floss
--Jewelry needle nose pliers
--2 metal tapestry needles 
-- fabric cut into ¼” strips, fibers, yarn, ribbon
--Beads and embellishments – variety of shapes and sizes
--Waxed linen
--Metal ruler
--2 binder clips

Optional supplies to enhance your project:
--Doodling tools- (I will have some to share) prismacolor pencils, gel pens, glitter/paint markers
--unmounted stamps, stencils, texture tools for printing
--size J crochet hook

Materials fee includes:  Collage Unleashed aRt! kit: collage images, use of watercolor paints, sumi ink, glitter, pens/markers, mark making tools, unmounted stamps and stencils
