Join inspiring artist and author, Lesley Riley, for an unforgettable Art & Soul retreat in the small hill town of Pienza, Italy, located in the southern portion of Tuscany. Intact, with medieval gates still standing at the town’s entrances, this Renaissance town of 1000 has been designated by UNESCO as part of the cultural heritage of mankind. The word renaissance is from the Italian “rinascimento” which means rebirth. The Renaissance was characterized as a period of rebirth and flowering of the arts.

The town of Pienza is known as La Signora (The Lady), and is a perfect place to experience your own rebirth as a Renaissance Woman. We will be staying at the historic San Gregorio Residence e Hotel.                                  Pattern & Paint in Pienza
Just the thought of Tuscany, of Italy, conjures up dreams and images of unequaled beauty, ancient textures, aged surfaces, pattern and color. In this week long class ,you will be able to immerse yourself in inspiration, color, paint and pattern of Italy. You will also learn how to develop aged surfaces, including layers of faux and real rust and time on paper, fabric or both. You will create papers for future projects or on-the-spot journaling. We will create luscious fabric and paper books to hold these papers and treasures you create or find strolling the cobblestone streets in the town of Pienza and on two scheduled day trips to other ancient towns.

If you have been to Italy, you know what I am talking about. If you have not, it is an experience that you should not miss. Discover why so many people choose Italy as their all-time favorite place to travel to. This is a class for beginners as well as seasoned artists. A chance to discover new ways with paint, inks, mediums and fabric. Not only will you learn new art techniques, but you will learn something new about yourself. Sunday: Check Out

The Price (not including airfare):
Single: $2500* US per person
Double: $2300* US per person
Breakfast and lunch are included Monday thru Saturday with a final breakfast on Sunday Morning before you check out of the hotel. Dinners are included Sunday & Saturday.

• $250 deposit is required at the time of registration.
• Balance is due by February 15, 2008
• All refunds prior to February 15, 2008 will incur a $100 cancellation fee
• Absolutely NO refunds can be made after February 15, 2008
• Art & Soul reserves the right to cancel if we do not attain the minimum number of enrollees.
• Art & Soul reserves the right to limit or restrict attendance to any person, business or representative thereof.

* The fee is based on the exchange rate of 7-25-07. Art & Soul reserves the right to adjust the prices accordingly. You will be notified if a drastic rate increase occurs prior to February 15, 2008.  Price does NOT include airfare.

In the case of unforeseen circumstances, including acts of GOD, which would cause the trip to be cancelled, Art & Soul reserves the right to reschedule at a later date to be determined.

	Il Caffe in Pienza.   Il caffé is a typical caffé for a small town. You can have your morning coffee and pastry, your afternoon snack and drink or your pre-dinner aperitivo. Or come after dinner for a digestivo. The photo  to the leftwas taken from across the street looking at the caffé. The caffé serves as the main meeting point for the town.
