A105 - Experiments in Layering Text & Paint |

Explore the abstract qualities of text, as well as its meaning. Words come in many fascinating shapes, colors, and sizes. Learn to produce word collages which have the appearance of illuminated manuscripts with layer upon layer of text and paint. As well as writing some of your own text, you will make use of interesting printed text to produce subtle combinations. You will practice the art of creating thin glazes of transparent paint to add mystery. Plenty of instructor demonstration and hands-on experience. (One full day)
