You can create your own magic with a wand that promises to fill your life with magic. We will create our own original artwork in a fun way and encase it between shaped beveled glass. Each piece will be soldered together to form the star at the end of our wand and then embellished just as we've
envisioned it in fairy tales. Twirling, spinning, we will see if we can make all our dreams come true. Each wand will be approximately 6-8" diameter x 18" long. Specialty glass, stem and wire included.
A $25 materials fee to be paid to the instructor at the beginning of class
SUPPLIES:
As for supplies, I will have soldering equipment that can happily be shared. However, if you have your own equipment, bring it. This includes:
- Soldering Iron
- Soldering Iron Stand
- Rheostat
- Solder
- Sal Amoniac Block
- Tips in different sizes
**I will have Flux, Flux Remover, and Sponges to share ... no need for you to travel with it unless you want to solder in your hotel room :) **
For this class, you MUST bring:
- Pliers (one Flat-Nose or Chain-Nose, one Bent-Nose, one Round-Nose)
- Wire-Cutters (small)
- Metal Cookie-Sheet (at least 8x10) * a cheapie is fine, I prefer a non-stick coating)
- Scissors
- Cutting Pad or Work Surface (something to protect the table)
- Hand-Towel
- Pencil or Pen
- Paintbrush
- Ephemera such as antique papers, stamps, clip-art, victorian trading cards, vintage photos (or prints of), and/or whatever you like to use in collage.
- Paints - your favorite colors (I will have paints to share)
- Favorite rubber stamps
- Other miscellaneous items you like to use in collage
- A few dimensional objects you would like to attach to your wand
*IMPORTANT - do not use glossy or satin finish images as they will distort under the glass*
