  THURSDAY   All Day: 9:00 a.m. - 4:30* p.m. *Unless noted otherwise[back to top]
Barham, Keely 011 - Fabric Gypsy Doll $115
Thursday - All Day Get ready for a doll making adventure! In this class you will learn all of the techniques for creating a beautiful, 19" soft-bodied doll. We will start with polymer clay techniques for making the face, hands, and feet. Then, learn to fashion a wire doll armature, once you cover this with cotton, fabric, and fibers and you are almost there. Finally, go to the extreme with embellishment adding hair, clothing, and accessories that turn your figure into a gypsy art doll. You will truly surprise yourself when you leave class with a fantastic, finished doll.

Supply list: wire cutters, sewing needle and thread, embroidery needle, Tacky glue, E6000, ½ yard cotton fabric for body (avoid “busy” fabrics, my favorites are “watercolor” or batiks), fabric scraps for clothing, 2 yards of 1" wide ribbon, trim, lace, or braid for clothing, a small supply of beads, coins, buttons, charms, found objects, and fibers. All levels.

Come play and experiment with acrylic paints, copper metal stamping, Altoid tins, Lumiere paints, spray webbing, old keys, and Diamond glaze. Create the matching slip case, which stores your new creation.

Supply list: scissors, glue stick, ruler, pencil, small book awl, white crayon, silver or white gel pen, 4 oz. tube black acrylic paint, 4 small foam brushes, 1/8" hole punch, heat gun and extension cord, and a washcloth in a Ziploc bag. Krull, Julie 204 - A Variety of Vessels $100
Tuesday - All Day Polymer clay is a great media for building interesting vessels. In this class, we’ll learn a variety of techniques for creating vessels. You can make your own freeform shapes or use other items as a base. Your vessel can be precise and detailed or organic and flowing– it’s all up to you! I’ll teach you the basics and help you decide what type of form will get you to the shape you’d like. We will have plenty of time to experiment, and explore ways to decorate the vessel you create, both before and after baking.

Supply list: at least six packages Premo polymer clay (single color or many), a work surface (plexiglass or a cutting mat), a pasta machine, clay roller or an acrylic brayer, clay slicing blade, and a x-acto knife. Optional: any coordinating items you’d like to include for decoration (e.g., beads, charms, fibers, pearl-ex powders, acrylic paints, etc.). All levels.

Techniques covered will be assorted metal patinas, wire wrapping, mica pages, eyelet work, inkjet transfers, metal stamping, copper mesh, word play. Your kit will include: 1-½” x 1-¾” 20 gauge, pre-cut and drilled copper front and back “cover”, copper 30" chain, copper wire and mesh, color transfer images, small mica sheet “pages”, eyelets, assorted charm findings, copper bezel cup image frames with pre-cut plexiglass, and paper.
