N116 - Exploring the Feminine Icon

[back to quicklinks]
$ 140

One of the definitions in Wikipedia of icon is “an image, picture, or representation; a sign or likeness that stands for an object by signifying or representing it”. In this workshop you will explore particular attributes of the feminine icon image, rendering your personal symbolism through a variety of mixed media techniques. I will demonstrate simple ways to create a textured background, lead you through my intuitive process of collage building, layering, and painting, and share with you how to blend collage elements and paint to create a seamless cohesion in your artwork. This class is geared to meet all skill levels, including beginners.
