Do you ever get tired of the “pretty”? I certainly do. There is something very satisfying about breaking something apart and recreating it better than it was before! Using a small candy tin container as your starting point, deconstruct and dissect this tin box structure and rebuild it into a wearable sculptural piece of art. We begin with talking about aesthetics and how to start the demolition process. Next we begin to break things! Learn to purposely alter structures by cutting, hammering, and drilling. Successfully attach parts together using a variety of both hot and cold fusion techniques. Adorn your new creation with the things you have brought with you –such as- tiny charms, text, old tintype images, or even old forks and spoons. Finally design a necklace and clasp for your newly created art object.
This is a project-based class focusing heavily on your unique and individual style. Each piece will be different than the next even though they all start out using the same structure!
