211 - Felt as a Sculptural Vehicle

$ 135 Plus $25 materials fee  

This Felt as a Sculptural Vehicle class will expose you to a whole new world!  Wool fleece can be molded, rolled, prodded and pressed into ANY shape you need or want to express an idea, build a
house or simply to adorn your body.  We will go through the many different ways that you can manipulate this most versatile material as a means to an end, using both wet and dry felting techniques. We will roll it, make vessels over an armature, make flat felt and needle felt.

Elements included in kit: 

• Fleece,
• Felting needles,
• Nymo,
• Sewing needles,
• Armature

Please bring:

• A shoe box size Tupperware container
• A large Terrycloth towel
• Cookie sheet or a tray with short sides
• Ideas & Questions
• Pen/paper
• Sharp, pointy scissors
• Possible embellishments, i.e. beads, sequins, ribbons, bits of wool yarn
