Learn to create a beautiful beaded locket that can showcase up to three tiny pictures of loved ones or your choice of artwork. Techniques covered are: designing the locket shape and planning photo placement, planning the other beaded elements, bead embroidery stitches, peyote stitching around glass, and several different fringing and edging techniques. String your locket on pretty velvet ribbon provided. Supply List: --scissors --three color-copied pieces of artwork or color copied photos that are 1" square with main images in the center of the squares --a selection of seed beads, including four to five colors of size 11; one or two colors of size 15, and a small amount of size 6 --bugle beads --decorative glass beads for fringing --E6000 and Tacky glues --Thread Heaven or other type of beading wax. Optional: task light and extension cord. Provided in class: beading needles and thread, ultrasuede in assorted colors, cut glass pieces, an assortment of decorative beads and seed beads to fill out what the student brings, velvet ribbon and findings.
