In this class, you will discover the ancient art of water felting and create a purse. You'll be surprised that with only a few manipulating techniques you can transform strands of merino wool into a unique wooly art purse. First you will be introduced to some basic felting techniques and then move on to learn how to make a hollow form without sewing. Whether you like your purse in a plain color, or wish to create a multi-colored design, much is possible. I will demonstrate various techniques for attaching shoulder straps and you can pick your favorite one to create your own unique wooly purse. Maybe you even want to know how I attach spikes or how to create a flap! Supply List: --1 large and 2 small towels --2 large pieces bubble-wrap (each ca. 40 x 24 inches) --pouring cup or water squirt bottle --fork Optional supplies: --Rubber mat --Various colors of merino wool strands Kit fee includes: 5 oz merino wool; piece of olive soap; purse template NOTE--this class will be held at the Holiday Inn, just down the road from the Embassy Suites. The hotel shuttle will be available for those who need transportation. Lunch is included in the cost of your class. CLOSED - CLASS FULL Online registration for the Portland event is now closed.
