In this fast-paced class we will create 10-15 portraits of your child(ren) (yes, 10 to15!) while exploring creative drawing, painting, printmaking and collage techniques (with special emphasis on drawing). We will work from photos and our imaginations. If you are ready to "loosen up" and have more fun with your art, this is the class for you. The emphasis will be on freedom, creativity and abandon rather than artistic talent or meticulous techniques. During the last hour of the class we will bind our portraits into a book/art journal with plenty of blank pages remaining to embellish at home. Supply List: --photos of children for reference; --2-4 color or b/w photocopies of photos to use in collages (6x6 or smaller); --photocopies of children’s art; --set of watercolors; --#10 round watercolor brush; --#14 flat brush; --scissors; glue stick; --pencil NOTE--this class will be held at the Holiday Inn, just down the road from the Embassy Suites. The hotel shuttle will be available for those who need transportation. Lunch is included in the cost of your class. Online registration for the Portland event is now closed.
