You may choose to bring your own treasures and supplies or purchase kits during the class. Please visit: www.gilbertdesigns.net for an array of ideas and color palettes that will be offered or to reserve a kit ahead of time. If you choose to purchase a kit, then all you need to bring is a task light.
If you choose to bring your own supplies, then please bring the following:
– A series of treasures that you want to encase (sea glass, stones, shells etc.)
– Seed Bead Soup in colors that complement your treasures and consisting of at least the following: All sizes of seed beads from 14/0 to 5/0, in numerous shapes such as round, hex, tube etc. and in a variety of finishes such as shiny, matte, transparent etc. (I usually draw from around 20 to 40 different seed bead tubes.)
– A few accent beads (pearls, stones, glass) in colors that match or compliment your focal piece and bead soup. These accent pieces should be of a size that won’t overpower your treasure.
– Your thread of choice in size b or 4 pound
– Size 12 needles
– Beeswax
– Task light (optional)
– Scissors
– Bead mat for working your piece on
– Bead tray or extra mat for your bead soup
Optional items: You may find a task light and / or magnifying glasses helpful
