Working with color is exhilarating! What better way to play with color than in making bead soups? Just as a painter mixes different pigments on her palette, you will learn how to make bead soups that contain depth and movement. We will focus on single palettes of color then explore ways to wash them together. You will apply what you learn by designing and making a color wash piece that glows!
Whether you are comfortable with your own sense of color or a little intimidated, you will come away with techniques that you can apply in your beadwork and in your home. For more information visit: www.gilbertdesigns.net
You may choose to bring your own supplies or purchase materials during the class. Individual bead soups and entire kits will be available in class. Please visit my website at: www.gilbertdesigns.net for an array of ideas and color palettes that will be offered. If you choose to purchase a kit, then you don’t need to bring anything.
If you choose to bring your own supplies, then please bring the following:
--Seed Beads to make at least 3 different monochromatic bead soups. Each soup should contain the following:
• Choose a color family as your base. You may bring in a bead soup already made up or individual tubes of beads in all sizes, shapes, and finishes in that color family. The more beads you bring, the more flexibility in creating a dynamic bead soup.
• Small accent beads (pearls, stones, glass) in colors that compliment your soup.
--Your thread of choice in either 4# or size b
--Beeswax
--Size 12 needles
--Task light (optional)
