1272 - Art Excavation--Plaster Meets Wax

[back to quicklinks]
$ 135 Plus $12 materials fee

Offered as an exciting new approach in working with plaster, students will learn to create a poured plaster surface on which we will carve, color and collage in ways most applicable to plaster. Once we have created this rich, textural base, we will then further enhance the surface with layers of wax, embedding imagery and our own cast plaster objects as well as incorporating paints, pastels and other coloring techniques for a tactile piece of art with rich depth and interest. The versatile techniques taught in this workshop can be translated into assemblage work, book arts, traditional collage and two-dimensional artwork.
