1287 - A Little Art of Remodeling Book

[back to quicklinks]
$ 135

s it really true? Do good things really come in small packages? Well I think it is debatable, but for this class we will agree and create a little book of remodeled art from images we love. We will spend the day making this little book out of matt board and watercolor paper, and ribbon. Once the pages are constructed we will add paint, stamps, and lots of found collage images from old art books, children’s books, postcards, and other found images. Once the collage is glued down we will then alter the images using inks, stamps, paints, markers, art crayons, and pencil to turn the old art into new. This class is for all levels.

Supply List:
--8-12 pieces of Matt Board Scrap cut into 3” x 5” pieces. (more if you work quickly, less if you don’t)
--16-24 pieces of 3” x 5” watercolor paper. I highly recommend Fabriano Artistico Traditional white Cold press watercolor paper.
--Any Traditional Art book with artwork from artists such as Davinci, Botticelli, Klimt, etc.  If you don’t want to bring the whole book you can tear out twenty or so of your favorite pages to have a good variety to work with in class.
--Collage images, ephemera, old text, old poetry books,
--One Magazine. wedding magazines are great for such projects.
--A good variety of Acrylic paints: Golden Titanium White is a must plus a variety of your favorite colors. A few of my Favorites: Paynes Gray, Quinacridone/ Nickel Azo Gold, Quinacridone Crimson, Hansa Yellow Medium.
--FolkArt paint from Michael’s is a nice cheap paint that has a great selection of colors.
--Golden Medium Regular Gel Matte
--Artist Crayons: Neocolor II, Caran D' Ache (www.dickblick.com)
--Variety of Adirondack Re-Inkers (3-5) (www.blockheadstamps.com)
