Take a journey of discovery and try some techniques we've developed that will give you a chance to work with very versatile art materials you may not be familiar with such as resin clays. We will make a two part creation with very different effects on the front and back. One technique results in a heavily textured resin cover that creates an amazing play of light on the surface of the image underneath. You'll also learn how to alter this textured surface to either obscure or bring focus to different areas of the underlying image. The back will be made with several fairly new art materials and will have a very nice patina affect somewhat resembling old tooled leather. We will then rivet everything together with stacked washers and a wire hanger we've made sandwiched in between. Repurposed silk ribbons in various colors will be provided to hang the neckpiece as one option for finishing. Access to an online workshop resource site full of ideas for further exploration outside of class with detailed step-by-step instructions, photos, patterns, design tips and more is included.
