This workshop is quite literally about hands. Part one will include a brief study of hand structure and posing—we will do a bit of sketching. Part two will cover a few methods for sculpting the human hand. You will come away with a finished pair of hands and knowledge that will allow you to create more hands in 2 or 3 dimensional mediums. Hands are an important and expressive component in art whether they are featured in sculpted form (like that used for art dolls), collage & assemblage, painting or other works of art. No sculpting experience needed!
Supply List:
- Polymer clay (at least 1 two ounce package),
- sketching paper and pencils,
- sharp knife and sculpting tools: needle tool, clay shapers, ball stylus & other favorite tools
