441 - Wire Sculpture Crow

[back to quicklinks]
$ 110 Plus $15 materials fee

In this class we will learn how to create a cleaver three dimensional crow. You will learn the technique of tinning galvanized wire, creating armatures to build body parts and working with polymer clay. This is a fantastic way to learn how to build future wire sculptures in most any form. Some soldering experience is helpful but you do not need to be an expert by any means.

Supply List:

  •  flux,
  • 100 watt soldering iron
  • sponge (to clean your iron),
  • small dish for sponge,
  • scotch bright pad,
  • heavy duty wire cutters,
  • flat nose and round nose pliers ,
  • ruler,
  • clay tools if you have them. If not a bone folder and awl are fine. I use my fingers most of the time to smooth the clay out.
  • Bench vise

Material Fee Includes:

14 gauge wire, tin foil, polymer clay, beads for eyes, sand paper, wire mesh for feathers , template for crows and other sculptures and black spray paint.
