In this workshop we will explore creating three dimensional mixed media collages using bits of repurposed wood, papers and hardware to create a visual conversation. So pull out those paper scraps, photos, beads, collections and findings you’ve been saving, grab your glue & hammer and let’s put them to use! Finished piece will be ready to be hung on the wall. Small wood blocks will be provided to students which measure approximately 2 x 2.5 inches.
Student Materials List:
- 1 or 2 pieces of wood at least 1/4” inch thick. Look around your home, studio or garage, chances are you may have something that can be repurposed. Size should be at least 5”x7”.
- a couple of paint brushes- small and large, a water container for washing brushes & a rag/towel for drying brushes.
- a variety of papers or photos for collage
- a small hammer and small nails no longer than 1”.
- small jar of modge podge, acrylic medium or water based adhesive of your choice
- small container of acrylic paint for painting background. color is up to you, I will also have a selection of paints available.
- optional embellishment goodies: gel pens, beads, glitter. sequins, small screws, small washers, buttons, sea shells, stamps, die cuts.....
