Learn textural METALSMITHING! Hammer, heat and yes, roll metal! We’ll texture and transform sheets of copper to adhere to book covers using handmade tube rivets much like eyelets. Metal can be squished through a roll mill, much like an old wringer washer, with textural items like dried leaves to create fabulous detail. This texture can be further embellished with hammering and stamping. In the words of a former student of mine “hammering is good!” So bring a book to adorn and come play with us. Ironically though we’ll be squishing metal, this should be a low stress class for you, where we have fun as we explore using a roll mill. WARNING: You may be addicted to metal after this class!
