Better than 8^th grade shop when you are making art. We will learn that anyone can use tools even if you have never done anything like it before or feel you are not strong enough. That tools such as a chop saw, drill press, belt sander, jig saw, dremel tool and many other tools can be very safe and very affordable. We will be building a shadow box from 8’ raw lumber use several different saws, sand it, drill holes, nail, and screw. We will also drill holes in various items such as dice, bingo balls, wood blocks etc. We will learn how to use a pipe cutter and deburing tool.  We will build and put together an assemblage, please see photos.

$15 Materials fee payable to the instructor includes: all the lumber, nails, screws, dowelling, glass and any other little bits to build your shadow box.

Supplies Needed for Class:  hammer and safety glasses to build the box, background papers  and items to put in the box for your own and unique assemblage.
