Every picture tells a story. Most of us take photograph after photograph of statues, buildings, trees, etc. etc. etc. ~ basically anything that catches our eye. And they all have stories. My quest is to combine my loves of photography and painting into a piece of art that blends the two to tell a story with purpose and passion. The evocative nature of black and white photographs allows the viewer an intimacy with the image that color does not. Using this as our focal point we will introduce color and design elements to create pure emotional context. We will create a story on canvas using the mystery of the b/w image.
In this class you will learn how to integrate your photographs within a painting while learning a variety of quick and easy background and detailed painting techniques. We will explore the elements of color, design and contrast that will give your paintings PUNCH! You will leave with a finished painting and a virtual toolbox of skills that can be used in all of your work.
No Prior Painting Experience is Necessary
