No prior painting experience necessary – all levels welcome

Put a bit of whimsy and splash in your painting. In this class you will create a pair of 6x6 paintings based on Koi Fish. You will learn fast and easy techniques that can be applied to all painting. This class is for you to learn to express yourself through color, paint and brush strokes. We will explore sketching in, blocking color, and adding details.

Materials

(2) 6x6 cradled studio artist boards ( Blick studio Artists’ Board traditional Panel ¾ inch cradle – can be ordered from www.dickblick.com)

variety of acrylic paints (Liquitex 101036 Basics 22ml Acrylic Paint Set of 36 is and inexpensive set with a large variety at a good price) any brand will due

black and white stabilo marking pencils

variety of brushes ( I prefer bristle filbert and round 2,4,6,8)

2 water containers

rags

1 neutral color caran d’ache neo color II crayon (i.e. raw umber, paynes grey, black)
