Spend a full two days exploring different ways to incorporate natural findings into a lovely miniature wallhanging/shrine that pays homage to the beautiful natural world that surrounds us, and encases words in transparent, mica pages that are special to you… whether your own or those of a favorite nature poet such as Mary Oliver. The small wallhanging can also be worn as a necklace, if desired. The focus of this class will be on basic jewelry technique and demonstration, with methods that involve stone/stick/glass drilling/grooving with a simple dremel, metal patinas, and the Nina Knot wire wrapping techniques that are easily applicable to both jewelry and mixed media. This class is similar to the ever popular Sticks and Stones workshop, (with the omission of the time-consuming epoxy resin), with the much requested addition and incorporation of the Copper Booklace.
