937 - Gesso Soup--Kick it up a Notch

We’ll play with gesso and experiment with the many ways it can be used. We will wash it, stamp it, heat it and notch it.  We will explore using gesso over your art and into your art using tools and images in some inventive ways. 
All levels are welcome!

Supply List:
--one or two 8 x 10 canvas panels
--8-10 sheets of 110lb. cover card stock (or paper of this weight) to experiment on.
--photocopied images on glossy photo paper.  1 or 2 images no larger than 5x7 on lighter weight copy paper.
--acrylic paints—Golden Paints are perfect for this technique
--collage material (magazines, old art books, sheet music)
--paint brushes
--paint sticks
--matte medium and glue stick
--gesso
--palette knife
--sandpaper
--rubber or foam stamps (large image)
--heat gun
--vinyl or latex gloves
--paper towels & baby wipes
--water container
--scraps of fabric
--anything else you may want to add to your piece
