Learn to make a whimsical container from a garden gourd. You will learn to clean and make the gourd ready for finishing, and use a woodburner to carve a design into the gourd. I will demonstrate a variety of finishes to use to finish the gourd including shoe dye, colored pencil and alcohol inks. You will also learn to cover the inside of the gourd with collage paper to give it a durable finish. I will also demonstrate how to weave in the surface of the gourd, as well as set stones to create the perfect embellishments to finish your gourd.
