980 - Fiber Fusion Journal House

[back to quicklinks]
$ 115 Plus $10 materials fee

**Important:  For class locations, please refer to the 'Activities & Information' page.

Come spend the day with us constructing a three dimensional journal about Home.  This workshop combines bookbinding, and sewing to create a unique fabric structure. Working with plain muslin and the smallest fiber and/or paper scraps, you will learn a fast and easy
fabric fusion technique that will turn your muslin into a work of art.  This is a chance to use all of the saved fiber or paper snippets and bits that are too small for most projects.  In addition, you will be able to incorporate a wide variety of other materials  such as pictures, photographs, natural elements, silk flowers and leaves, small flat metal items, or whatever strikes your fancy at the creative moment.  After making your fused fabric, you will construct a three dimensional house-shaped, embellished abode.  Finally, composing inside your house perhaps from gathered quotes, photos, and memories - pages about Home that are sentimental, heart-felt, and personal.

Supply List:
--one 18” x18” piece of muslin
--one ziploc bag filled with a combination of scraps--NO SCRAP IS TOO SMALL! (this could be ANY kind of fabric, thread, yarn, ribbon, lace, small bits of paper or tissue paper
