Nature, in all its glory, deconstructs while it reconstructs through a series of processes spanning hundreds, thousands and millions of years.  In this class we will replicate the effect of these processes with in a few hours. As no stone, fossil or artifact is identical to another each produced piece will be unique.

Stage one will be using some common materials to construct fossils, ancient tablets, or other bits seeming to have been unearthed from an archeological dig.   Create pieces as large as 18” x 18”, smaller pieces or combination of sizes and shapes.  You will learn a number of techniques and use some surprising materials to create your pieces.  We will also explain how to make a truly grand piece as large as 4’x8’!

Stage two is all about finishes, texture and patinas.  Working on the pieces created in Stage one, you will be able to tryout a number of finishing options.  Learn realistic to fantasy finishes with everything in between.  Although we want some air of authenticity these are art pieces so gilding the lily is just fine.
