In this class we will explore different processes of altering both traditional and digital photographs and how they can be used in mixed media arwork. Think of it as photoshop without the computer! Rediscover your love of photography by using your own imagery in your art. We will complete approx. two mixed media collages which incorporate our altered photos.
Supply List:
--three 11x13 Canvas Boards (if you have a preference for a different size or surface, that is fine)
--between 6-10 color or b&w photos (any size)--consider bold compositions. Please note that these prints need to be processed on a photo developing machine. Beware of photo kiosks as some use photo paper that you cannot alter. I have had great results with ofoto.com and snapfish.com.
--between 6-10 photos printed on photoquality inkjet paper (consider bold compositions)
--acrylic gel medium (your choice of gloss or matte)
--Waterbased markers (ex: marvy markers & crayola markers are waterbased)
--pencil (any type of pencil will work, i like to work with 6B & 8B)
--awl
--clorox bleach pen
