Bring light and shimmer into your work with this new twist on gold leaf and gilding. Learn how to create a luscious, textured golden or copper glow to paper and canvas. Use cupric metal, abrasives and patinating liquid to make old things look shiny and new or new things look ancient and priceless. This fast paced technique class will dazzle you with bling, so bring your leafs and lets get gilding!
Supply List: --Heat gun --Acrylic paint, golden fluids would be ideal, but any will work --Imitation gold leaf (most version sold are loose leafs in a “book” of 25. These work just fine. However if you want to do a lot, or want to make it easy on yourself, go on the internet and get “patent” gold leaf. It is lightly adhered to backing sheets and much easier to apply. --Water bucket --Paint rag --PVA glue --1 inch flat brush for spreading PVA and painting acrylic --Water color paper, 140 pound, hot press and cold press would be good, 3 sheets each about 11 by 17 --Freezer paper cut in neat 6 inch squares
Optional: --Patent or transfer imitation gold leaf (mounted on release papers, much easier!)
Instructor will provide: --Abrasive powders --Gold leaf adhesive --Metal foils --Barrier cream
