Spend the day capturing the whimsy and charm of your family — including pets, of course!  Inspired by Carla’s simple approach to portraiture (kind of a cross between Amedeo Modigliani and Dr. Seuss), you will create a 10”x13” family portrait on wood using a unique mixed-media process Carla has developed through trial and error over the past several years. We’ll begin the day with a series of drawing exercises designed to loosen you up and gain drawing confidence. Then we’ll create a portrait with beautiful textures and a luminescent paint quality... you will be surprised at the process (hint: NO acrylic paint!). Supply List: --Fine point black Sharpie --Mechanical pencil --#8  round watercolor brush --#12 flat brush --small set of watercolors (either cake or tube) --Photos of family and pets for reference Optional: Heat gun Materials fee includes: Wood “canvas,” gesso, watercolor crayons, charcoal, markers, spray coating
