Fusing glass is a satisfying way to create strong, graphic designs in glass...simply. In this introduction to kiln forming, you will learn to make complex-looking imagery by layering opal, transparent or dichroic-patterned glass. Experiment with glass frit, glass Stringer and Noodles, glass paint and metal inclusions. Pre-cut jewelry blanks will be provided to increase your productivity and allow you the freedom to express yourself completely. There will be a brief lecture on fusing glass terms and compatibility but this class is primarily a “hands-on” workshop. Dichroic decals and rubber stamping with glass paint will be demonstrated as well as glass cutting techniques. Your finished cabochons can be used on your altered journals, assemblages, purses or hats. They can also be used for earrings, necklaces or buttons. Finish the conference wearing your masterpieces!
