1027 - Door Of My Heart

In this new and exciting workshop you will learn the versatile art of rug hooking as you create a heart shaped wall piece with a small door that actually opens to reveal a photo or picture of your choice. Using hand dyed wool strips and burlap you will hook a colorful heart shaped piece that can be either stuffed like a pillow or hang flat on the wall. A pattern will be provided and different options for hangers will be included. Once you learn the simple technique of rug hooking you can use it to make rugs, dolls, book covers and more!
 
Supply list:
--Rug hook (not a latch hook!)
--Scissors
--Sewing needle and black thread
--Small photo or color copy about 1 1/2" x 2" or smaller
 
Optional:
--Beads, buttons for embellishment
--Favorite colors of light weight wool cloth for hooking
 
Materials fee includes:
--Heart pattern on burlap
--wooden frame
--hand dyed wool strips
--fabric for door
--Felt or wool backing fabric
--metal wire or fabric hangers
 
Instructor will provide:
--Extra wool
--Iron
--Buttons, felt beads
--Wool stripper to share
