985 - Renaissance Metal Journal

$ 50 Plus $10 materials fee  

This class will introduce you to working with metal to create a beautifully detailed cover for a unique journal. The techniques you will master include embossing metal, staining metal, framing transparencies with embossed metal, and so much more. While this class focuses on metal working you will also receive instruction in making a journal to insert between your wonderful hand-made covers.  Feel free to bring your own materials and ephemera that you would like to include in the journal. The finished product is stunning – you will surprise everyone with your creativity and have a journal worthy of your most fanciful dreams!

Supply List:
--Pencil
--Scissors
--An awl or needle tool
--PVA
--Pink Double stick tape
--Tacky glue
--Bone folder
--Metal tools (if you have ones)
--1” Foam Brush
--Thin black sharpie

Supply Fee includes:
--Precut journal pages
--Metal sheets
--Some tools for working with metal
--Transparencies

Instructor will provide: paints, stamps, ink pads, metal embossing molds.
