Chad Alice Hagen
Chad Alice Hagen has been happily and intensively exploring resist dyeing and surface design of hand felted wool since 1979. Textiles, fiber, fabric, material, felt, cloth – these words are more exciting to her than “You have won the lottery!” Starting from a textile history background, she has supported herself through her BA and MS from University of Wisconsin and MFA from Cranbrook by weaving rag rugs from thousands of pairs of corduroy pants. Why? Because of the color!! When she discovered feltmaking and the way the wool felt absorbed color through dyeing in the late 1970’s, there was no turning back. Chad Alice has written extensively on art and feltmaking and her artwork has appeared in and on the covers of Surface Design Journal, Fiberarts and Shuttle, Spindle & Dyepot Magazine. She also is the author of three books; "The Fabulous Felt Scarf" (2007), "Fabulous Felt Hats" (2005), and "The Weekend Crafter: Feltmaking"(2002) all published by Lark Books. She has taught hundreds of classes and workshops since 1979 throughout the United States and Canada, England, Ireland, Holland and Germany - from the early felted boots through hats and scarves and artworks. Her large scale felt work can be found in major collections including the Mint Museum of Craft and Design in Charlotte, NC, The Knoxville Convention Center, TN, and the Minneapolis Institute of Art. B.F. Goodrich Corporation Collection. Chad Alice maintains a full-time felt and book studio in Asheville, North Carolina.

Magdalena Muldoon
I was born in Mexico City in 1963. My mom opened her Crafts Business “Mercart” in Mexico City in 1970 so I grew up surrounded by fine crafts. In 1990, Mercart Mexico introduced the metals and tools for traditional metal embossing in Mexico and later in Latin America. I had the opportunity to learn the traditional “Repujado” (metal embossing) techniques from 5 of the best teachers in Mexico. In 2002 I moved to the US with my husband and 3 daughters and brought my mom’s metal embossing part of the business: “Mercart USA”. Since then, I have been teaching all over the US and participating either as exhibitor or teacher in shows like CHA, SDP, Art & Soul, Stampaway USA, Artiscape, Rubber Stamps and Scrapbook Shows, Artist’s retreats, etc. In May 2009 I was invited to teach certification workshops in 4 cities in Japan. I was also part of the jury in Japan’s 1st Metal Embossing Competition. I was asked to participate in a series of demos in Argentina in May 2010. I published the book “Metal Embossing Workshop” in 2006 (Sterling) and I was also part of Page Sage’s “Art Unscripted” DVD hosted by Carol Duval. I have participated in articles in multiple magazines in the US and Mexico. When I’m not teaching or running the business, I enjoy being with my family, going to the movies, reading or just having friends over. Contact: www.mercartusa.com

Lynne Suprock
I began Simply Pretty Stuff in 2007, after a Master's Degree and 28 years of critical care nursing practice. More than a dozen of those years were also spent teaching RN's, LPN's and Nursing Assistants at various schools of nursing. In between, I was a writer for the local newspaper, The York Sunday News, where I wrote health and human interest features with accompanying photos. This photojournalism inspired me. By 2007, I needed a new direction in my life, and wanted to unleash the creative little girl who had been screaming to be loose after all these years! In 2008, I was lucky enough to capture the attention of StoryPeople artist, Brian Andreas who hired me to design his pewter charms and glass Christmas ornaments. Jean VanBrederode
As an artist, I have found copper and enamels to be the most thrilling media I have ever used, allowing me endless variety in color, form, & texture. To experience the results of combining glass powders on copper or steel and transforming them in a 1500 degree kiln is an incredibly satisfying adventure! No two pieces are ever exactly alike and each creation has a special gleaming personality of its own!
