C137 - Resin Paper Necklace Memories

$ 150

Resin itself is completely versatile, but resin paper is to me, transformative. A seemingly simple piece of paper will become altered in so many ways. We will make resin paper from many different types of card and paper sheeting to create a wearable story book pendant. Papers can be written on, and have rouge or liquid patinas applied. We will be cutting copper sheet to make a name plate, stamp words into copper, insert eyelets into our paper, weave ribbons and memorabilia into layers of paper and then construct a necklace with Vintaj chain and findings. Resin paper and a project will be completed in class.

Materials Fee $ 35.00 paid to instructor at beginning of class includes:
Resin – We will explore different types of resin to make our papers
Mixing cups and sticks
Assorted papers and ephemera to use
Vintaj chain
Vintaj jump rings
Parawire wire and Copper sheet metal
Charms and eyelets
Prepared resin paper coated board
Written instructions and step-by-step photos and/or diagrams

Supplies Needed to bring for Class:
Scissors, 2 chain nose pliers

Optional items:
Colored tissue, ephemera, papers you might like to resin, extra bits and pieces like beads, ribbons or charms you might like to add.

Notes:
Class will begin with a short demo on how to mix resin, and how to coat different types of papers. I will have coated boards for the students to use to make sample pieces of resin paper. That will get set aside. Students will need a little extra space for their boards to set up undisturbed while class is going on.
I will have stacks of cured resin paper for them to choose from, and we will begin constructing a necklace.
