In this hands on workshop learn the usefulness of this age old technique reminiscent of our ancestors long ago. Using 10 gauge bronze wire, explore the possibilities of how it relates to jewelry design, form and structure. Learn the correct methods for hand hammering and alternately annealing wire for malleability and compliance. This technique of rendering round wire, flat allows for a handmade rustic look and feel. Drawing a bead for closure. Use this link bracelet as the start of a Talismans charm bracelet or for housing amulets, fringe or personal mementos. Finish at least one piece.
kit fee- $20.00 payable to instructor at beginning of class includes: Supply List- Please bring, anvil, hammer, needle nose round, chain nose pliers, wire snips. Non asbestos soldering block (I will have extra) I will bring- anvil, sandpaper, liver of sulfer, torches, fuel, burning pliers, Many of the required supplies may be pre-ordered from Blue Twig Studio.
