Come and create a one of a kind waterfall vest using repurposed tablecloths or any 60 inch wide fabric. This vest makes a fashion statement that will have you grabbing it often as you go out the door! The fabric can be any you choose, cotton, silk, wool, or knits. The only fabrics that will not work are the heavy home decorating fabrics used for upholstery (they are too heavy and will not drape well). Think outside the box and let your imagination decide your choice.
All you need is a tablecloth or length of fabric that is at least 60 inches wide and at least 36 inches long. The length of the fabric will determine how long your vest will be. Ruth used a 60x 72 tablecloth for the long length but if you prefer a shorter vest a shorter length will work also.
One of the reasons we hesitate to create our own clothes is the lack of a good fit. Ruth will show you how to make your vest perfect for YOU. You will go home with a pattern and some terrific tips on how to adjust patterns to give you confidence to create more garments for yourself.
Embellishments, such as lace, trim, stitching, beads, etc. can always be added to make a statement, so if you want to add to your garment bring the embellishments and Ruth will teach you how to add them.
This vest is a great pattern for beginners but can also be really fun for the more experienced sewer because of all the possibilities.
Kit fee $10.00 payable to instructor at beginning of class includes:
