P362 - Fabric Collage Folio

$ 150

NOTE:  Sewing machine experience required.  We will have 10 machines available if you are traveling. Please contact  glenny@artandsoulretreat.com to reserve a machine. If you live locally, please bring your machine and let us know so we can reserve for others!

Gather up your beautiful scraps! One of my favorite things to do with scraps is assemble them and “collage” them with free-motion stitching and decorative stitches from the sewing machine. We’ll turn your scraps into a fun folio approximately 8 x 10 inches large. The inside has pockets to hold a small journal and your favorite writing/sketching pencils or pens. These folios make a wonderful gift, or give you a good excuse to hang onto those scraps that are too pretty to toss!
We will begin class with a little bit of practice thread doodling on the sewing machine, then dive right in to the fabric collage!
Students need to bring to class:
Fabric: Have fun choosing coordinating colors! See photos for ideas.
• Front – bring enough scraps to cover an area of 9 x 11 inches (this includes seam allowance).
• Back – one piece of fabric 9 x 11 inches
• Inside cover – one piece of fabric 17 x 11 inches, or two pieces 9 x 11 inches
• Pockets – one piece of fabric 17 x 9 inches
Extra fabric scraps, as desired
