We will start the day by mixing a vat of real indigo dye and setting aside to bloom. While it is doing its magical thing, we will twist, tie, clamp, scrunch and stich some amazing traditional shibori patterns. After lunch we will dip, dye and delight in your one-of-a-kind indigo dyed fabric. Expect to learn several styles of shibori and walk away with a great stash!

Materials Fee $80 paid at beginning of class includes:

Fabric, dye, dye tubs, fixatives, various reusable shibori tools for the fun.

Wooden Clothespins
Plastic Hangers (3 or 4)
Plastic bin for transporting
Four 4" plastic Spring Clamps (from the hardware store)
Bar of Ivory Soap (must be ivory)
Rubber Gloves (house scrubbing gloves)
