Sewing Machine experience necessary
Have you ever seen a pretty top with lots of layers and wanted to learn how to make one? This is your chance.
Using a simple McCall’s pattern, some pretty vintage tablecloths and a bit of osnaburg, Ruth will teach you how to add layers here and there to create a top your friends will think you bought in an upscale boutique.
Ruth’s top is a sleeveless tunic but you can add sleeves, lengthen or shorten the top, or add anything to make the top a one of a kind, uniquely yours, garment that you will love to wear.
Kit fee: $10 payable to instructor at beginning of class includes:
pattern making fabric, tape, hand stitching supplies
Supplies to Bring:
1 ½ yards Osnaburg fabric
Several vintage (or new) tablecloths with lace or embroidery on it. (I used 3 tablecloths and 1 placemat)
Thread to match your tablecloths
McCall’s pattern 7327 in your size
We will have sewing machines available, but if you can bring your own machine in good working order with all cords and instruction book, bobbins, and needles it would be appreciated. Please let Glenny know if you will be bringing one.
