We will channel our inner scribes as we make our own walnut ink with harvested walnuts from my own Black Walnut tree. This method is the same one used by scribes to make their own inks in medieval times. Everyone will have ink to take home.
While our ink is cooking and we are testing it, we will make an origami fold-out book in which we can keep notes on our process. We will create a plaster relief for the cover using rubber stamps and insert a ribbon to tie the book closed. Upon opening, circle pages fold out, ready to scribe with our finished walnut ink.
