3038 - The Frayed Edge

New and updated for 2009!  In this class, we'll explore using unstretched and unprimed canvas as our art surface and working with the frayed edges of the canvas. We'll learn how to create mono-prints using acrylic paints and waxed paper, gesso transfers, and other exciting ways to enhance our collage creations. The unstretched canvas is perfect for adding sewn on elements, fringe, buttons and other embellishments to make a unique wall hanging.

Claudine Hellmuth Studio paints + mediums and other materials not listed below will be provided to share in class.

Beginner-Advanced

SUPPLY LIST

• 1/4 yard of unstretched and unprimed canvas, you can purchase this at the artsupply or fabric stores. It is usually called cotton "duck" canvas. HINT: you can also use canvas drop cloth from the hardware store. Super inexpensive!!
• scissors
• A few Xerox and color copies of images you like.
• Bring any buttons or beads or anything you might like to add by sewing into the canvas.
