3025 - Mica Cover- Herring Bone Binding

$ 75 Plus $20 materials fee

Create a unique book structure with a mica cover.  We will utilize a commercially made mica product intended for lampshades.  This translucent material makes for an excellent and intriguing alternative to more typical cover options. Our books will be sewn on tapes using a decorative and sturdy herring bone (French twist) binding.

Supply List:

• Ruler
• 4-6 inch square or triangle
• Awls
• Scissors
• Pencils: wood, mechanical
• White eraser
• Exacto knife and blades
• Small cutting matte
• Thin or light weight collage materials: decorative and text papers, photos, insect wings, leafs, feathers, etc.

Materials fee includes: 

• Mica sheets
• Text block
• Handmade paper
• Tapes
• Assortment of waxed linen thread
• Needles
• PVA glue
• Double stick tape
• Other misc. materials or tools needed to complete the project
