“I just don’t have enough time”. “I should be able to make more.” “I can’t work under these conditions.” Sound familiar? No artist is immune to procrastination and self-imposed “shoulding’ – those rigid, counter productive, and self-depreciating thoughts of less-than and not-good-enough. If you, in fact, are a master at these traits, I invite you to author your own definitive guide entitled “How To Avoid Creative Productivity”. There is an inner artist in you perfectly capable of swimming in creative flow, enjoying the quiet when the well is dry, biting off more than she can chew (and chewing it quite well thankyouverymuch) and, heaven forbid, meeting deadlines. This artist MUST be put back in her place…back in the bottoms of creative stuckness and tortured genius where real artists thrive. Through playful partner dialog and guided exercises (wearing our most serious artist faces, of course), we will dissect our most common ugly-head-rearers that keep us from feeling the bliss of creative flow and savoring the quiet of the still waters of a creative dry well. In this workshop we will take a tongue-in-cheek look at life as a working artist (or hobbyist doodler) and create a definitive guide on how to avoid creative productivity – a must for anyone considering a life in the arts.
