Find your distinct creative voice. Create mixed media portraits using everyday items. In this class I will show you how I construct portraits using all handmade embellishments and designs. I will show you how to paint the background, design the portrait, assemble and create the features and hair, as well as adding texture and dimension. This approach is unconventional, a bit twisted but incredibly fun. This class is great for the beginner and experienced artist. Supply list:

• 1/2 yard of 3 different 100% cotton fabrics
• your collection of ephemera
• floral rubber stamps/stencils
• 11 x 15 or 11 x 17 watercolor paper
• acrylic paints in various colors
• Liquitex Matte Fluid Medium
• Golden Regular Gel (Matte or Gloss)
• glue stick
• various size paint brushes
• thimble (if you use one)
• hand sewing needles
• assortment of beads
• beading thread
• embroidery floss
• a small baggie of polyfil
• 1/2 a yard of muslin
• black sewing machine thread
• fabric and paper scissors
• sewing machine with free motion foot (If you can't bring your sewing machine, please let me know. I will bring an assortment of supplies to share).
