This project combines two powerful concepts – that of giving and that of keeping a secret. We will use mostly recycled materials to make an art bundle intended as a gift. Come prepared with a recipient in mind and bring materials that relate to that person. Perhaps you have some secrets or symbolic objects you want to hide inside your bundle. The dictionary defines a bundle as “a number of things tied, wrapped, or held together.” Techniques explored include collage, wrapping, tieing, painting and constructing. Examples of talismans and fetishes will be shown. No experience is necessary. There is magic and power in making art to give away.
