Sometimes when I teach a bookbinding class, my students become so involved and stressed with the actual stitching that I wonder if they are having any fun! My advice has always been to simply "get er done", or "just stitch that book together". A great skill building exercise is to simply stitch a book together without directions and learn a lot from the experience. Better than that... is this class. I designed this class to allow anyone to create their own spine stitching design using five basic "moves" . For example, in the first photo I wanted the stitching to enhance (not cover up) the central motif. My motif could have
been a button, beads, embellishment or just about anything . The other cover uses beads as part of the design. Each student will stitch a unique stitching design. We will also create an artistic cover using old and newer products, using techniques I know you will use again. We have some time to decorate your pages also.
