3103 - Coptic Stampboard Book

The Coptic stitch is one of the oldest bookbinding stitches known. Most people think it is difficult. Don't worry, you will do it. We will use an ancient single needle Coptic stitch with the newer clay coated Stampbord to create our masterpiece book. If you have not worked on Stampbord yet, be advised. It is fabulous because of the way it accepts color and you will fall in love.  We will experiment with some  Stampbord techniques before we create our covers. The 5" X 7"  covers use the fiber tool and steel wool techniques as well as my embossing techniques. This is a truly handsome book when finished.  The pages will be blank and if you would like to use your own hand painted papers, please bring them cut or torn to fit. The "epoxy sticker" techniques will be shown.  Drying times vary. 

Supply List:

• Any stamps, stampbord or bookbinding tools you have. 

Materials fee includes:   Stampbord sample chips , 5" X 7" Stampbords for cover, paper for about 50 pages,  thread, needle, use of art products to complete book (embossing powder, stamps, coloring products for cover)
